September 21, 2014 Parable of the Laborers

Humans have an innate sense of fairness and justice. The Parable of the Laborers portrays a story of two kinds of workers, the ones that actively pursued the work and the ones that were just found it by standing around. The parable reveals the Lord's plans are not our plans, so why does the success of those that worked little seem to offend us? God makes his kingdom available to everyone, salvation is not handed out in pieces. It is there for the taking. God's plans have a way of revealing them selves over time. We realize He is strengthening us in character and holiness when we live according to the Gospel.

August 24th, 2014 Peter as the Rock of the Church

June 2014

June 8th, Pentecost Sunday

Pentecost has all of the drama and action that could be imagined in a Hollywood action scene, just image the imagery of the fire Holy Spirit that splits into a dozen flames and lands on the heads of the Apostles and Mary. The Holy Spirit gave the gift of language to the apostles to share God's love and message to all people, they become the conduits. They spoke and people responded. The Holy Spirit gives each of us special gifts- all intended for the Glory of God, not for our personal glory.
