Join in singing beloved selections such as “Amazing Grace” and “The Battle Hymn of the Republic.” Intimate, atmospheric, and deeply moving, this concert offers a journey through America’s sacred musical heritage, culminating in the premiere of two works by living composer Cadence Strange.
Featuring music by William Billings, Amy Beach, Richard Smallwood and many others, the program traces a distinctly American musical journey—from the shape-note traditions of early America, through spirituals and gospel, and onward into the sacred music of our own time.
All proceeds go towards the music department at St. Dominic’s.
